The exercise of gravity: poetry and the time of making art

First event in the series of meetings and activities open to the public that accompanies “Dissolvenze. Corrispondere al tempo” an exhibition by the duo Simoncini.Tangi curated by Valentina Gensini, an integral part of the RIVA project, realized with the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze.

An encounter dedicated to the philosophy of change and nature as a living archive, with the intertwined gaze of philosophy, artistic practice and curating.

Art practices can be considered as the different ways in which certain human beings, artists, manage to satisfy their need to express themselves. If we accept that their activity can be explained in this way, however, we need to clarify what their origin is and, more importantly, how art practices can unfold and develop over time.

The talk offers a picture of such a condition that, before being artistic, is human and “more than human,” since it is deeply linked to the role of poetry.

Speech by Davide Del Sasso, researcher (RTD-A) in Aesthetics at the Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca. To follow: dialogue with the art collective Simoncini.Tangi
